This Privacy Policy describes how the Visit Thurman mobile application (the "App") accesses, uses, stores, and shares data when you use maps, offline content, and navigation features.

The App supports the Visit Thurman tourism experience for local partners and visitors.
Data We Access and Why
- Precise and approximate location (permission-based): Used to show your location on the map, provide turn-by-turn navigation, estimate route progress, and reroute when off-route.
- Downloaded app content files: The App downloads places data, images, map assets, and offline routing packs so features can work with limited or no service.
- Technical request data on servers: When the App requests content from our endpoints, servers may log technical metadata such as IP address, timestamp, and requested resource path for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
Data We Do Not Require
The App does not require account creation or login, and does not intentionally request your name, password, payment card details, or government identification data.
How Data Is Used and Shared
- Primary use: App functionality (maps, routing, offline features).
- No sale of personal data: We do not sell personal information.
- Service providers: Technical request data may be processed by hosting/infrastructure providers that operate our web services.
- External links: If you open external sites or map services, those third parties are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention and Deletion
- On-device offline files: Remain on your device until you delete the offline pack in-app or uninstall the App.
- Location data: Used for active navigation functionality; not sold.
- Server technical logs: Retained only as long as reasonably needed for operations, security, troubleshooting, and legal compliance.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect data involved in App operations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Android and iOS Permissions
- Location permissions: Requested to provide map positioning and navigation.
- Network access: Used to fetch content updates and offline pack metadata/files.
- Foreground location service (Android): Used during active navigation.
Apple App Store Privacy Notes
For Apple App Store privacy disclosures, this App is intended to disclose location data usage for app functionality, and technical diagnostics/usage handling consistent with this policy. App Store labels and this policy should remain aligned for each release.
Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
